1979 Triumph Bonneville T140 D Fantastic Lot Money Spent
For sale is a 1979 Triumph T140 D with matching numbers and historical vehicle status. The V5 is present and the bike is tax and MOT exempt. It was purchased a couple of years ago after being dry stored for over 25 years with an engine fault. It has since been restored over the last 2 years and was finally finished last October.
The engine was stripped down to the sludge trap and had new main bearings, crank shells, various bushes, new cam rollers, and barrels that were not salvageable. Good standard bore and new pistons were sourced, and the head was splayed to suit Mk1 concentrics. The bike has a new 3-phase stator, solid state rectifier, electronic ignition, Motad battery, and 7-plate clutch upgrade.
All new gaskets, seals, and newly chromed swinging arm, side stand, and calliper bar. The bike has new fork sliders, a powder-coated frame, all new brackets and stands, stainless mudguards, and all new chrome handlebars, exhaust, and headlights. The tank has been repainted and the pin stripe is vinyl. The seat is new, and the bike has new chain and sprockets, master cylinders, back and front, all new hoses and pipe work, and both callipers have new stainless pistons and seals. Most of the fasteners are stainless.
The bike has been ridden only a few miles and everything seems to work okay. It starts easily and will require further setting up as the miles are put on it. All quality parts were used from TMS Nottingham and LF Harris. All mechanical work was done by a retired motor mechanic. The bike can be delivered for the cost of fuel if not too far away. Cash on collection with a £200 deposit on the end of the auction. Please only bid if serious about buying. The bike is advertised elsewhere and can be removed at any time. If you have any questions, please ask.
