Hello and welcome to the listing for this 1978 Suzuki GS1000C. This bike was imported from the US as a restoration project, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it has been relisted for sale. The bike is very original and generally in very good condition, with less than 17,000 miles on the clock. It has been registered in the UK as a historic vehicle, so there is no need for tax or MOT.
The tank was leaking, rusty, and dented when I got the bike, so it was professionally repaired, lined, and roughly primed. While I have not attempted to start the bike, it turns over with good compression, and the oil light goes out immediately. However, the carbs will need to be stripped and cleaned before it can run. The seat is in excellent condition.
I have collected various parts for the rebuild, which are included in the sale. These include a new Vance & Hines 4-into-1 exhaust system, new Hagon shocks, a gasket kit, all airbox rubbers, carb repair kits, and a new fuel tap – see the photo.
