1978 Honda Cbx1000z Unmolested Unrestored Original Right Down to Paint and Exhausts
In my ownership for 4 years, receipts for approx £3000 spent since then, including clutch rubbers, plates and springs, carbs rebuilt and balanced by Mark Hutton at A&H. Top and bottom gaskets, oil screen, brake pads, all fluids replaced. New Motobatt battery, lots of other service items new, including tyres. Oil and filter changed every 6 months. No expense spared in maintaining this bike to ensure it runs exactly as it would have straight from the showroom.
German import European model, exactly the same as a UK model including the longer rear mudguard with reflector. Headlight changed to left hand dip and MPH clock fitted. Full power (105hp) Z model.
I’m the second owner, came to me with 12000 miles on the original speedo, I’ve done about 2000 since. VJMC and CBX owners club member. Eckert drilled discs plus originals.
All totally original including paint and Sankei HM422 exhausts.
I have absolutely no doubt that the engine and frame pairing is exactly as it came out of the factory. There are stencilled markings on the engine casings and the body parts to prove they were made and assembled in the factory within one day of each other.
My garage is now full and I need to reduce my bike collection as I have my eye on a number of other classics I’d like to own before I give up riding!
