1972 Honda Cb450k5 Unregistered Us Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project
This well-respected and much sought after 1972 Honda CB450K5 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.
The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it’s going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES…….. As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – The battery being the most obvious. The throttle cable isn’t working, there is a small dent in the top of the tank, a few dents in the front mudguard, the rear LH indicator bracket is loose/faulty, the tank is grotty inside and there is a dent in the RH silencer.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS……… The wheels are straight with just a few rusts spots on the chrome rims. The forks and yokes look straight and gators are intact. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments look ok and switches move freely. The seat base is in good condition throughout. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are straight and bright. The standard exhaust is solid. The engine is cosmetically clean. BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a booster battery and fed some fresh fuel through the carb we had it firing/running in tikover.
